Forever Young Health and Wellness Expo

Rittenhouse Women's Wellness Center will be participating in Philadelphia’s 1st annual Forever Young+ Health and Wellness event. This event offers expert speakers, exciting classes, educational sessions, exhibitors, and interactive demonstrations to promote healthy aging in adults. Our certified personal trainer, Shannon Feck, and our yoga instructor, Rachel Goldberg, both will be teaching classes on the day of the event.

Mindfulness Meditation Program at the Rittenhouse Women's Wellness Center

Mindfulness meditation helps you to address and manage your daily life stresses. Mindfulness techniques are tools that most recently come from the work of psychologist Jon Kabot-Zin.  Utilizing methods including relaxation and noticing the mind, as well as the support of other group members, this 8 week intensive program can help you reduce stress, increase focus and achieve greater happiness.  Well-being benefits may also become apparent as research has shown that meditation of any sort can improve health and diminish anxiety that triggers discomfort and chronic illness. 
 
Mindfulness meditation can help you to:

• increase your focus
• reduce depression
• manage difficult situations that you may face
• reduce anxiety

 
Classes will be led by Randi Platt and will begin on March 8th for a 8 week period. Class will be held Thursday evenings beginning @ 6:00pm at the Rittenhouse Women's Wellness Center. About: Randi E. Platt, M.Ed., a psychotherapist for the last 30 years and the Executive Director of the psychotherapy practice of Hornstein, Platt and Associates, has been teaching stress management since 1985. Having meditated at various times throughout her life, Ms. Platt now maintains a daily mindfulness meditation practice and has trained in mindfulness with Dan Siegel, Jack Kornfeld and Pema Chodron. Ms. Platt now integrates training and practice into a course on mindfulness based stress management based on the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn.

The Young Friends Rodin Garden Party: Desert Jewels

Bid farewell to summer in style at the Young Friends Rodin Garden Party. This jewelry-themed cocktail party will highlight the upcoming Desert Jewels: North African Jewelry and Photography from the Xavier Guerrand-Hermes Collection exhibition. This event will feature festive food and drink and with a raffle and silent auction.

This fundraiser is very popular each and every year. Funds raised through this event support the Young Friends’ mission of art acquisitions, conservation, and preservation of works in the collections, as well as educational and outreach programming.

WOMEN’S WAY’s Fall Gala is their annual black tie fundraiser. The event features dinner, dancing, and stunning live and silent auctions comprised of one-of-a-kind items.  The Fall Gala is unique and has a reputation as a fun, free-flowing event with a short program, closing with the thrilling live auction. Patron level tickets at $500 per person, including invitations to the Patron’s Party and the Gala;

On Friday, September 24, 2010, WOMEN’S WAY will host the 8th Annual Fall Gala.

An accomplished and creative gala event is planned and has taken shape for September. Joanne & Graham Berwind, Ellen Berman Lee & Jerry Lee, Elaine Levitt & Joel Gershman, Rena Rowan & Vic Damone, Carole & Joseph Shanis, Diane Apfelbaum Toll & Charles Toll, and Diane Dalto Woosnam & Richard Woosnam are co-Chairing this event. This event is set to take place at the elegant Four Seasons Hotel .

 Fight for the Cure: Ribbon Ball 2010
